GuideDomain VerificationDelivery & Tracking

    Configure Delivery & Tracking

Configure custom domains to handle bounce processing (MX) and open/click tracking (CNAME) securely on behalf of yourdomain.com.

How Delivery & Tracking Records Work

    DNS Record Types & Names

You need to add two additional records to your DNS provider:

    • CNAME Record: track.yourdomain.com
    • MX Record: m.yourdomain.com

    Why They're Needed

The CNAME record creates a custom tracking domain, meaning all open and click tracking links will use your domain name instead of a generic AWS or Simply Send link. This improves deliverability and brand trust. The MX record sets up a Custom MAIL FROM domain, routing complex bounce and complaint notifications directly to our infrastructure to automatically maintain your sender reputation.

    Step 1: Get Your Records

Log in to Simply Send, go to the Domains page, select your domain, and navigate to the DNS Records page. Under the Email Authentication section, you will find your Delivery and Tracking records.

Step 2: Add Tracking & Bounce Records

Access your DNS provider (e.g., Cloudflare, Route53) and add the following two records exactly as shown in your dashboard:

TypeHost / NameValue / Points toPriority
    CNAMEtrack.yourdomain.comr.us-east-1.awstrack.me-
    MXm.yourdomain.comfeedback-smtp.us-east-1.amazonses.com10

    Step 3: Verify and Enable

    Wait for Propagation

DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 24 hours to update globally.

    Enable in Console

Once the DNS check passes, click "Verify" in your Simply Send dashboard to activate your domain.

    Next Step: Security Hardening (SPF)

Now that your mail is flowing, protect your domain from being spoofed by unauthorized senders using SPF.
